Australia Basic Scaffolding Practice Test

The identification of fixed anchors as a class of anchor device used to attach fall arrest equipment is correct because fixed anchors are permanently installed at designated locations, providing a reliable point of attachment for safety harnesses and lifelines. These anchors are typically secured to structural components, such as beams or concrete, ensuring they have the strength and stability necessary to withstand the forces that would be exerted during a fall.

Fixed anchors are essential in fall protection systems as they do not rely on movement or repositioning; they remain in place to provide consistent safety for workers. This makes them a fundamental component for ensuring the safety of personnel working at heights.

In contrast, portable and temporary anchors are designed for flexibility and are often moved or adjusted based on the specific needs of a job site. Mobile anchors typically refer to anchors that can be relocated as work progresses. While these options have their own significance, the focus on fixed anchors highlights the importance of stable, permanent solutions in fall protection measures.
